Overview

ASCII Generator ("we", "our", "the tool") is a free, client-side web application available at asciigenerator.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is processed, how, and why. The short version: we collect no personal data whatsoever.

Information we do NOT collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or process any of the following:

• Images you upload or process
• Text you type into the text-to-ASCII input
• Your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers
• IP addresses or device fingerprints
• Usage data, session recordings, or analytics events
• Account credentials (there are no accounts)

All image conversion and text rendering happens entirely inside your browser using the HTML Canvas API and JavaScript. No data is ever sent to our servers — because there are no servers involved in the conversion process.

Local storage

We use your browser's localStorage to remember your dark/light mode preference across visits. This value (theme: "dark" | "light") stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Cookies

ASCII Generator does not set any cookies. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies.

Third-party services

The only third-party resource loaded by this site is Google Fonts, used to load the Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces. When your browser requests these fonts, Google may log the request IP address and other standard HTTP headers according to Google's Privacy Policy.

No other third-party scripts, trackers, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or CDNs are loaded by this site.

Children's privacy

ASCII Generator does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, no special handling is required. If you believe a child has somehow submitted personal data through this site, please contact us and we will investigate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the tool after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
